However, I can suspend my disbelief about those when watching a sci-fi movie like this. The reason I pointed out this specific plot hole is that it's a logical problem within the "rules" of the movie.

I saw an outdoor food court when I was in the San Diego area last summer. Thought it was a good idea, then remembered I live in Arizona and it would be a terrible idea for large parts of the year.
