I mean, I'm actually asking this. Not all religions seems to have as obvious or pronounced as a leader as the Catholic church does, given the whole Pope thing. Sorta feels like whatever the higher ups in the church support - you are also supporting that by calling yourself Catholic. How are we supposed to separate the 1.2 billion Catholics from their leadership/teachings and still have some semblance of referring to a religious group if no one is following the same set of beliefs. Is saying 'I'm Catholic' like saying 'I'm Christian' where it's just a general term for a very core set of beliefs and there is a more specific term for those who follow the Popey side of the church/those teachings?
