He used to be all about the "back to normalcy" vibe, but Covid changed all that and I think it shook him up as a personHe knows that there is no going back to a pre-Trump era now and I think the role as kind of a transition figure to a new era suits him more, particularly at his age. I'm surprised at how many places pay their workers above minimum wage. The Sheetz (a regional gas station chain based in PA) near my house starts people at $1 per hour (according to the sign on their door). Friends' daughter, with literally NO experience just got a job waiting tables where she makes $20/hr after tips. Even Walmart is starting people at $12. I'm sure that there are places which pay minimum, but I don't know why anybody takes those jobs when there are better alternatives out there, even for people with no experience at all. I remember back in the day McDonald's did this in Canada with their toonie Tuesday promotion. 2 dollars for a big mac. But of course you'd wanna buy a drink and some fries and that's how the get ya Toonie Tuesday died such a slow undignified death at KFC as inflation took its course.
